club
So, after 25 years the boys are finally talking about getting back together. Two of the most influential comedians of the 20th century, Cheech and Chong have opened many doors of what can and will be in acceptable culture. Thank God they are settling old grudges and moving on with what they do best together.

Oh, you want a mother fucking shwimp?

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

Filed under: Main, entertainment, society, Blogs/podcasts — Administrator at 8:49 pm on Friday, July 25, 2008

This is epic shit. Joss Whedon teams up with Neil Patrick Harris to make a 3-part short about a low-rent super villain trying to take over the world and get the girl. It’s too bad Captain Hammer keeps getting in his way and saving his precious Penny. This is a musical video-blog about a man who wants to take over the world if only…watch it and find out. In the words of Ilpalazzo, “Think globally, conquer locally.”

If you have an iTunes account, get this. $3.99 for all three episodes. So good. (sorry for the iTunes store plug, I have never actually never bought a video on there before this.)

Is it me or does this “rescue” bot look like a beefed up Wall-e

Filed under: Main — dcam at 4:50 pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Clearly this machine is version 0.0.2 of the eat-a-human-turn-him-into-fuel-for-the-robot-uprising series. It all starts as a rescue mission and goes horribly horribly wrong.
Killer Wall-e

deceptively cute Wall-e
What I think is particularly interesting is the similarities to the so-cute-it’s-sickening Wall-e. He’s got the tread, the boxey body, the killer’s instinct.

Ok…maybe it’s a stretch but what do you expect from a guy that looks at the moon and sees the Deathstar?

It’s been more than a year since John Hayes, a professor of pastoral counseling at Loyola College, ingested psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms. He claims that the series of three eight-hour highs, administered—in a laboratory-turned-living room at Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore—have made him a calmer, less fearful person. “It gave me this sense that space and time are human constructions that can collapse,” says Hayes, 59. “The ultimate reality is something beyond those constructions, and more importantly, everything in the world is connected.”

The U.S.’s First Offshore Wind Farm…FINALLY

Filed under: Main, ecology — Administrator at 11:00 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2008
The new wind farm will be built off the coast of Delaware, about 12 miles off the coast. That should decrease the visual distraction significantly as well as help capture those roaring atlantic breezes that average about twice that of on-land wind speeds. The field will be composed of about 150 turbines and will produce enough electricity to power about 100,000 homes at peak output.

San Francisco to vote on George W Bush sewage works

Filed under: Main, society, politics, Human Health, neighborhoods, comedy — Administrator at 10:35 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2008
San Francisco is to hold a vote on whether to rename one of its largest sewage treatment facilities after George W. Bush, in what supporters describe as “a fitting monument to the President’s work”.
